General

D9 is a multi-channel amplifier in high quality. It is designed to both tackle multi-channel audio formats, such as high-quality SACD and DVD-Audio, and deliver 2-channel  surround sound music. It is also applicable to 5.1 channel audio & video systems. D9 is a final result of high technology, delicate manufacture and refined materials. All product functions are aimed at achievement of sonic excellence and strong ability to drive and control loudspeakers. D9 distinguishes itself from other products by its excellent portrait of music and popularity with demanding listeners and viewers.

D9 has no internal 5.1 channel digital decoder of any type. It is capable of any 5.1 channel model sound from any source. The internal circuitry is designed to tackle audio sound signals and video signals in accurate and linear manner. Due to the absence of an internal sound decoder, D9 is immune from radio interference, which greatly contributes to clear and detailed sound delivery.

If you chose D9 for your multi-channel sound system, the quality of decoding of multi-channel digital sound signals solely depends on the level and quality  of the digital audio player (SACD or DVD), not on D9 at all. By attaching the multi-channel digital sound module to the signal source, the possibility for sound signals to be distorted in the process of amplification is minimized, and the unnecessary waste resulting from repeated installment of sound decoders is avoided. What is more important is that it is able to survive frequent updates of digital sound formats by updating sound sources, and thus the relatively expensive amplifier is preserves from being moved or frequently updated.

The preamplifier's outputs and the final stages inputs of D9 are open to users. You may independently use either of them. The preamplifier's  and final stages inputs / outputs are installed on the rear panel of the device and joined by 5 connecting bridges. Pulling out the bridges, you may independently use either the preamplifier's output terminals or the final stages input terminals. This is quite convenient, and, for example, allows you to switch in other devices between preamplifier section and final stage of D9, for instance such as equalizers and so on.

Inside the device are installed five efficient power amplifiers with the exactly same circuitry and independent direct current supply. To tackle SACD or DVD-Audio broadband music signals, the specially designed broadband circuitry is selected for D9. This new circuitry is a result of the original design by DUSSUN on the basis of some other successful products. It is superior in extending  en-loop bandwidth and in decreasing the amount of negative feedback. With up-to-100kHz frequency response , D9 is capable of producing a full range of beautiful sounds when playing SACD or DVD-Audio. For sound enthusiasts, what more important is that the new circuitry for D9 provides easy access to melodious, balanced and natural tone color.

Being in the same strain with other high-level amplifiers manufactured by DUSSUN, the power amplifier for D9 maintains an active drive of and a good control over loudspeakers. Especially when delivering 2 channel stereo at 1500 Watts @ 4Ω, D9 is able to produce nearly twice output. It is an obvious indication of the superior quality of this high-level High End amplifier.

The preamplifier of D9 consists of six independent channels, i.e. front-left, front-right, central, back-left, back-right and subwoofer, with accurate and simultaneous volume adjustment. Signals from the five channels, after buffer processing by a high-quality and low-impedance amplifier, are delivered out of the 5.1 terminals on the rear panel, so that the internal circuitry is kept from outside interferences. Signals from the subwoofer channel are delivered to the from the rear panel of D9 and are then transmitted to an independent active subwoofer with its own internal power amplifier (bass tube). Signals from the other five channels are transmitted back to the internal final stage via the final stages input terminals on the rear panel.

The volume controller of D9 is integrated in the preamplifier stage, so it controls the output signals of the output terminals of preamplifier stage. As these output terminals are open to users, they can easily drive any final stage with an input impedance of more than 600 Ω. When used together with a single high-level audio & video preamplifier, the 5 channel final stage of D9 can be used separately, with volume not subject to the integrated volume controller of D9.

The signal processing in the video modules of D9 is also aimed to accurate reproduction. Active broadband transformation is adopted in transforming high-quality component-video signals in order to completely prevent non-linear distortion of video signals, which enables graphics transmitted by high-quality component video signals to remain their detailed accuracy, brightness and color excellence after having processed by D9.  In processing S-Video and Composite video signals, the broadband, low-interference video circuitry transforms and assigns, and also matches resistors.

DUSSUN has clearly presented the basic concept of "humanism" in the function design of D9. In addition to ensuring sonic excellence, DUSSUN designs user-oriented operational functions, such as "power", "volume". "input signal" and other related functions. It optimally provides users with comfortable operation through a human-friendly machine operation interface.

In terms of uncommon functions of D9, user may enter the menu by a remote controller to set mute power level, volume settings, terminal settings, 2.1 sound channel modes ect. On the highly human-oriented machine interface, users may easily learn the fundamentals by making attempting operation. It is as convenient and simple as operating a traditional stereo power amplifier.

The volume of the front channels being the standard criterion, that of the central, rear and subwoofer channels can be adjusted (adjust, offset) within a certain range according to user's demands. In addition, the sound balance of left and right channels of front- as well as rear sound channels can be adjusted. Any such adjustment is put into the memory bank of D9's data base. It is automatically set when the machine is turned on next time.

D9 can be simultaneously connected with two 5.1 channel video signal sources (capable of tackling simultaneous input from Video, S-Video, Y/Pb/Cb and Pr/Cr) two stereo video signal sources (capable of tackling simultaneously input from Video and S-Video), four audio stereo signal sources. The output terminals can be connected with two video systems with stereo sound. D9 is able to meet the needs of high-level, High End, audio & video enthusiasts.

The "signal terminal group" tackles signal sources. Users may connect the "signal terminal group" with various audi & video signals from different signal sources. When selecting a different signal source D9 simultaneously enters all input signals from the "signal terminal group". It both makes a quick understanding and memory of connecting lines possible and quickly familiarizes users with D9 as a traditional stereo power amplifier does.

Each channel is equipped with a reliable circuitry guard device which can automatically inspect any possible overload or circuitry impediment and take protective actions. At the same time, obvious hints are given on screen display.

Design, Material, Manufacturing, Finish

The amplifier's components are mounted in a stable aluminum enclosure with massive brushed aluminum front panel, rock-solid cast aluminum cooling blocs as well as good ventilation system. Design is simple and cool, handling-optimized, excluding unnecessary toys and extravagances, perhaps, just in this way nice. Selection of material, dimensioning, treatment as well as manufacturing are of absolute perfection, similar as for design and outfit.

Play Back Characteristics

With the matching periphery being able to process the quality of signal delivered by this sound wonder a dream, producing fantastically, soft, tube-like, but, nevertheless precise sound in highest resolution, not easy to describe.
